FOCUS…

Let me preach to you for a minute. You have a dream that you want to accomplish. You have a vision you want to make reality. You WILL be bombarded with distractions. Those distractions will be people and circumstances. But FOCUS is key. This is going to sound harsh, but if the person you’re tripping over does not pertain to your vision, for all intents and purposes, that person does not exist. If the jerk who pissed you off this morning does not pertain to your dream, they do not exist. If the thing you’re worrying over does not pertain to your goals, it DOES…NOT…EXIST.

Simply put, FOCUS is key. We’ll only be successful to the extent that we can kill distractions. We only have so much energy to carry us throughout each day. Just as you wouldn’t waste your paycheck buying dog food for your bird, don’t waste your energy entertaining these distractions. I want to see my generation succeed.

Have a productive, distraction-free day. :-)

I don’t really listen to mainstream Hip-Hop. I usually stick to the greats (The Roots, Common, Lupe, Mos Def, etc.). But I was in Best Buy yesterday and decided to pick up young Diggy Simmons’ new album. After one listen, I’m convinced this dude is going to be a force in the game. I’m thoroughly impressed.
